Male Suspect Arrested After Attempted Break-Ins at Multiple Businesses

Multiple Arrests in Brandon: Weapons, Assault, Breach of Orders, and Image Distribution Charges Laid

Possession of a Weapon At 3:55 pm, Police were called to a situation of a male brandishing a knife in the 900 block of Victoria Ave. The 25-year-old male was located with an open folding knife and was wearing a face mask. He was charged with Possession of a weapon and disguise with intent and was held for court. Fail to comply with Release Order, Resist Arrest At 10:20, a 31-year-old male was arrested in the 1800 block of Rosser Ave, as a result of an ongoing investigation where it’s alleged the male failed to abide by his conditions not to communicate with the involved female.  He also breached his curfew condition. While being arrested the subject physically resisted arrest. He was charged with three counts of breach of release order and resisting arrest. The accused was held in custody for court. Distribute Intimate Images  As a result of an ongoing investigation from May, a 31-year-old male was charged with distributing intimate images. He was later released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date. Assault  On August 14th, a complaint was received from a female stating she had been assaulted by her partner. The victim did not require medical attention from the assault. The 32 year old male turned himself into BPS and was charged with assault and later released on an undertaking.

Crime Stoppers Wanted and Crime of the Week for August, 22 2025

The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating this person who is “WANTED BY POLICE”: Sebastian LONGCLAWS FOR Robbery with Violence. On July 29, 2025, Sebastian LONGCLAWS assaulted a female and stole her personal belongings in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue. LONGCLAWS fled prior to police arrival and his whereabouts is unknown. CRIME OF THE WEEK for Aug 22, 2025 The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a Break and Enter. On August 17th, 2025, at approximately 3:45AM, a male and female broke into a building located in the 500 block of Rosser Avenue. The male suspect was wearing a blue hoodie, black pants, red shoes and a black backpack. The female had bleached blonde hair and was wearing all black with a white Nike symbol on the front of her hoodie along with a camo print backpack. Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm in a Motor Vehicle

On August 21st at approximately 4:30 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of 18th Street North. Two loaded pistols were located in the vehicle. As a result of the investigation, two individuals from out of province —a 19-year-old male and a 23-year-old male—were arrested, charged, and held in custody pending a court appearance. Third and fourth individuals from Winnipeg, an 18-year-old male and a 23-year-old male, were also arrested and subsequently released on an Undertaking both with court dates of November 13th. All four individuals are receiving numerous firearms charges. The driver, 23-year-old male from Calgary, did not have valid driver’s licence and was found to be wanted on both a Calgary Police and Regina Police Warrant for Arrest. The vehicle was towed.

Wanted Man Arrested After Suspicious Activity Report Leads Police to Theft Suspect

On August 19, 2025, at approximately 2:43 PM, police responded to a report of a suspicious male in the 600 block of 18th Street. Upon arrival, officers identified the individual as being wanted in connection with a Theft Under $5,000 and a Failure to Comply with an Undertaking, both related to an incident on August 3, 2025. In that earlier incident, the 49-year-old male had stolen merchandise valued at $259.78 from a business located in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. At the time, he was under conditions not to attend the premises as part of an existing Undertaking. The male was arrested without incident, transported to the Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention facility, and is scheduled to appear in court on the morning of August 20, 2025.

Police Arrest Two Suspects in Attempted Armed Robbery on 9th Street

On August 18th at 8:13PM a male reported he was walking home with his groceries when he was approached by a male and female in the 300 block of 9th Street. The male asked what he had while attempting to cut him. Onlookers gathered and the suspects fled. At 1:21AM police located the suspects matching the description. The 33-year-old male was arrested, held in BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning. He was charged with Attempted Armed Robbery and Failure to Comply Probation Order (Abstain from owning, possessing, or carrying a weapon). The 23-year-old female was charged with Party to the Offence of Armed Robbery. She was released via Undertaking with a court date of October 16th, 2025.
