Traffic stop leads to drug arrests, four impaired drivers processed

Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrests:

At around 5:55 PM Sunday, a traffic stop was conducted at 11th Street & Victoria Avenue. It was determined that the male driver gave a false name and he was arrested for public mischief. A subsequent search located a quantity of methamphetamine that is consistent with trafficking amounts. Two males, 29 and 26 years of age, were arrested for possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. The 26 year-old also faces a charge of public mischief for giving the false name. Both were held in custody and will be released on police-imposed conditions. They are scheduled to appear in court on July 9th.

Impaired Drivers:

There were four impaired drivers processed over the last 24 hours: all qualified for the Immediate Roadside Prohibition.

At around 4:37 PM Sunday, a 59 year-old male was stopped in the Canad Inn parking lot and was determined to be impaired.

There was a two vehicle collision in the area of Hazelwood Cres. & Garwood Drive reported at 7:22 PM Sunday. One of the drivers, a 55 year-old female, was found to be impaired.

A traffic stop in the 100 block Percy Street at 10:05 PM Sunday located an impaired 26 year-old female operator.

At 12:20 AM this morning, a traffic stop in the 400 block 25th Street resulted in the 21 year-old male driver receiving a 90 day driving suspension and a 30 day vehicle impoundment.
