Man charged with attempted murder after alleged shooting in Brandon

A 61-year-old Calgary, Alberta man has been formally charged with 2 counts of Attempted Murder along with Discharging a Firearm with Intent and Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration. He appeared at the Court House in Brandon this afternoon and has since been remanded into custody.
As the investigation unfolds into the shooting that took place yesterday afternoon in the 200 Block of Highland Avenue, more details surrounding the incident have been learned. An alleged Robbery escalated with a shotgun being produced and shots being fired.
As a result of the shooting, a 39-year-old Brandon man was transported to the Brandon Regional Health Centre to receive medical care and a 16-year-old female youth from Brandon originally admitted at the Brandon Regional Health Centre has since been transported and admitted to the Health Science Centre in Winnipeg with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
The firearm believed to be used in the commission of the offence has been recovered.
