Just prior to 7:00 PM Friday night a 41-year old Brandon man was involved in an armed and barricaded incident in the 0 hundred Block of 9th Street North. Police were called to the scene after being notified that the man had a gun and indicated that he would shoot people. Police responded utilizing the Tactical Response Unit and the man was arrested without incident just prior to 11:00 PM. An assault rifle was located within the residence. The male, was wanted for parole violations and will also be charged with several weapons offences including possession of a stolen rifle, possess a weapon dangerous, unauthorized possession of a firearm. He remains in custody at the Brandon Correctional Center.
