Brandon Woman Arrested for Possession of Methamphetamines

Brandon Police Service Media Release Just past 11:00 AM yesterday morning a 33-year old female was located passed out in a business in the 400 Block of 10th Street.  Several syringes and a small quantity of methamphetamines were located on her.  She was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center until sober and will appear in court on May 31, 2018 to be charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Brandon police pull over men with expired visas

Brandon Police Service Media Release On Friday morning, a vehicle was stopped on 18th St North after the driver was observed using his cell phone while driving.  The two men in the vehicle were asked for identification and both provided passports from another country however neither could produce a valid visa.  Canada Border Services was contacted and both men had expired visas.  They were lodged at Brandon Correctional Center and will be dealt with by Canada Border Services with a hearing in the near future.

BPS lay charges in two separate drunk driving incidents

Brandon Police Service Media Release At 3:14 am, a vehicle was stopped in the 1200 block of 18th St after it was observed driving slowly along the curb.  The male driver, a 30 year old Brandon resident, showed signs of consuming alcohol and failed a roadside test.  He then provided breath samples more then double the legal limit.  He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Center and will be released for court in early April charged with Impaired Driving and Drive over 80 mg% At 4:30 am, a vehicle was observed making a very wide turn at Willowdale Crescent and Ashgrove Boulevard.  The vehicles registration was expired and the vehicle was stopped by police in the 2600 block of Victoria Ave.  The female driver, a 33 year old from Virden, showed signs of intoxication and was arrested for impaired driving.  She provided breath samples that exceeded the legal limit.  She was released for court in early April charged with Impaired Driving, Driver over 80 mg%.

RMWF Brings in Big Crowds for Good Friday

Thousands of visitors took advantage of the Good Friday holiday to visit the fair. “The crowds keep getting stronger as the week goes on and competition was very tight in the RBC Challenge.” said Ron Kristjansson, General Manager of the Provincial Exhibition. “The Birds of Prey continue to be a crowd favourite and the President’s Choice SuperDogs and petting zoo are a hit with all ages.” Lorrie Jaimeson and Elle Carrera owned by Klondike Victory Farm of Lacombe County took home top prize in the RBC Challenge and Pickering Farms from Prince George took home the Tim Horton’s Six Horse Championship A. The final show jumping event of the week, the Bell MTS Grand Prix offers $25,000 in prize money and the coveted KT McPherson Award will be given out to the top horse/rider combo for the week. Clubbing Fraggles will play the Barn Bar, show starting at 9 PM. Free gate admission after 8 PM. Fair open until 2 AM. Possible Impaired Driver Collision

Brandon Police Service Media Release At about 12:35 AM this morning (March 29), it was reported that a vehicle travelling on 26th Street had collided with a parked car in the 200 block. A 22 year old male was arrested at scene for impaired driving but required treatment for injuries sustained in the collision and was transported to hospital.
