On January 23rd ,2024 at 09:51 a.m. police were called to a disturbance at a business in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue. A 22-year-old female was located at the scene swearing at staff and dumping solvents on the floor. When police went to arrest her, she spit in one of the officer’s faces. She was held for court on January 24th, 2024.

The Manitoba government is showing support to rural Manitobans who are starting a career in nursing and helping to fulfil the critical need for health-care workers by attending the grand opening of the new Neepawa Training Centre, Premier Wab Kinew and Advanced Education and Training Minister Renée Cable announced here today. “Neepawa is a thriving community, home to young families and global businesses,” said Kinew. “Our government is committed to working with post-secondary institutions like Assiniboine Community College and amplifying the work president and CEO Mark Frison has done to connect more rural Manitobans with rewarding careers in health care. Our mission is to fix health care. Working together, we can achieve that goal by supporting the students here in Neepawa that are starting their journey towards fulfilling careers as future nursing professionals.” The Town of Neepawa developed the Neepawa Training Centre as a rural training hub to generate more skilled workers in the region. Assiniboine Community College has partnered with the Neepawa Training Centre to offer a two-year practical nursing diploma program as the first program hosted by the facility. “I am thrilled this centre is positioned to become a hub for workforce and economic development that contributes to the health and well-being of Manitobans, and I congratulate the town of Neepawa on the opening of this facility,” said Cable. The training of the first group of up to 25 nursing students will equip them with the requirements to become licensed practical nurses in Manitoba. This collaborative work advances the Manitoba government’s mission to help more Manitobans receive the quality health care they deserve while offering the local community options to build rewarding nursing careers, noted the premier. On January 21, 2024, at 12:20am, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 000 block of 10th Street.  Police located and arrested a 48 year old male who had assaulted a female. The female reported that the male had thrown a computer and a canned drink at her.  The male was lodged at the Police Station and was later released with a future court date.

On January 20, 2024, at 00:58am, a resident in the 0 hundred block of 20th Street reported that her vehicle had just been stolen.  A short time later, police located the stolen vehicle in the 1400 block of Rosser Avenue and arrested a 35 year old male responsible for the theft.    At the time of the arrest, the male was in possession of a knife.  The male was lodged at the Brandon Police Station and later released with a future court date.

On January 2nd, 2024, Police conducted a curfew check for Evan DICKHOUT as he was bound by a court order to abide by a daily curfew. DICKHOUT was not at his residence and was therefore in breach of his court order.
