The 2017 BRHC Foundation Gala Committee is thrilled to announce that $73,634.80 was raised from the SOLD OUT event held September 30. The spectacular evening included champagne, gourmet meal, wine, chocolates, a complimentary photo, prizes, and dancing. Equipment purchases for the Brandon Regional Health Centre will include a fetal monitor and waterless milk warmers for the Maternal/Child areas, a physiological monitor for the Dialysis Unit, and a hyper-hypothermia system for the Emergency Department. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this 27th annual fundraiser! MNP’s Reach Out Program Supports Southern Manitoba Communities

BRANDON, MB – Nine charities and organizations in southern Manitoba will be the beneficiaries of national accounting, tax and consulting firm MNP’s Reach Out – Pay it Forward program for the next year. Starting February 1, 2018 and running until January 2019, for every client referral provided to our southern Manitoba offices, MNP will reach out and donate five percent of the new client’s first year fees to local charities and organizations. “As a leading national accounting, tax and consulting firm, our objective is to not only raise money for the local charities but also to build awareness for the organizations’ missions. Brandon man charged after alleged dine and dash incident

Brandon Police Service Media Release A 49 year old Brandon man was arrested on Friday night after a complaint was received from a restaurant in downtown Brandon that two man had left without paying an $86 dollar tab.  The man and another male were confrontational with staff at the restaurant and left before police arrived.  The accused was then located at a downtown bar by police.  He was highly intoxicated and was held in custody to be released for a court appearance on the charge in March.

Man, 20, charged for allegedly shooting victim with BB gun

Brandon Police Service Media Release At 12:54 am on Saturday morning, police responded to a report of a man who had been shot several times with a pellet gun at a residence in the  500 block of Franklin St.  Officers spoke with the victim who stated he had been in a dispute with another man whom had been staying with him.  The victim was attempting to evict the other man when the argument started, quickly turning physical.  During the fight, the suspect used a pellet gun in his possession to shoot the victim several times, causing injuries to the man’s arm and head.  The suspect then fled from the scene.  The victim was treated and released at BRHC.   The suspect later contacted police and turned himself in.  Following his arrest, he provided a statement indicating he had also been the victim of an assault.  The accused, a 20 year old man from Brandon, was lodged at Brandon Correctional Center to appear in court later on Saturday. The incident is still under investigation.

Effective Monday, February 19th, 2018, the main arena will be called Westoba Place.
