Late Thursday afternoon, a two vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of 9th St and Lorne Ave which sent a vehicle careening into the side of a building. A small car and an SUV collided, sending the SUV into the side of the Brandon Friendship Centre on the south-east corner of 9th and Lorne. Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release Brandon Police responded to a dispute between neighbours in the 800 Block of 7th street that escalated to the point that a female suspect damaged the patio furniture belonging to her neighbour. As a result a 44-year-old women from Brandon was arrested for Mischief to Property Under $5000, lodged at the Correctional Centre to be released when sober to appear in Court in August.

Gusting winds throughout Wednesday caused a tree to topple over onto power lines in the back lane of the 2500 block of Richmond Ave. BFES, BPS and Manitoba Hydro were called to the area around 2:45 Wednesday afternoon for reports of a tree on fire hanging on live wires. When crews arrived they found a tree resting on live power lines, with more live power lines on the ground posing a danger. The fire burnt part of the tree but did not threaten anything else. Emergency crews cordoned off the area for the safety of the public and waited for Manitoba Hydro to attend. Nobody was injured.  Photos by Liam Pattison Photography.

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release As a result of a traffic stop in the 1900 Block of College Avenue, a female passenger in the vehicle was arrested after she was found to have in her possession small plastic baggies containing Meth, as well as approximately 5 grams of Cocaine. A Search Warrant was executed at her residence and Police located a bag containing approximately 29 grams of Cocaine. The estimated street value of the Cocaine is $4500. The 36-year-old Brandon female was lodged at Correctional Centre and is scheduled to appear in Court on Tuesday.

Source: Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Manitoba On July 1, 2018, at 10:40 am, the Dauphin RCMP received a report of a missing 24-year-old male. Danny Berhie Kidane was last seen by his friends at 6:00 pm on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the Dauphin Countryfest grounds. Kidane is described as African-Canadian, 5’6”, 140 pounds, with brown eyes and short black hair. He was last seen wearing black shorts and flip flops. Anyone with information is asked to call the Dauphin RCMP at 204-622-5050, or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477, submit a secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com or text “TIPMAN” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).
