Brandon Police Special News Release The Brandon Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing person. Echo Brooke TACAN, age 15, was last seen on Saturday January 14 2017 at her residence in the 100 block of 1st Street. Tacan’s date of birth is April 3rd 2001 and she is a First Nation female, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 154 pounds with a medium build. Tacan has dyed blonde shoulder length hair and brown eyes. Tacan was wearing a green parka and black pants. Ag Days Equals Boom for Brandon Economy

Ag Days is expected to attract 45,000 exhibitors and visitors from across Canada and North Central United States. International Visitors also attend this world class event. Everyone is welcome! “We are very excited to announce that we will be using every square inch of the Keystone Center this year as we have acquired the last 19,200 ft2 of available space bringing the total square footage of the show to 540,000 ft2; all under one roof! This has allowed us to welcome 54 new exhibitors for the 2017 show” stated Kristen Phillips (Ag Days GM). To top off the largest show yet, the 40th anniversary show will have several special features and events taking place. First off, exhibitors are encouraged to display something nostalgic in their booth to commemorate 40 years of Ag Show Excellence. The top 3 winners will have the option to receive a cash prize of $1000, $500 and $250 respectively. If they choose to donate the funds to a local charity, Manitoba Ag Days will match their contribution. “We are also encouraging every patron to wear something nostalgic to the show. We will be handing out prizes to every patron we see participating in this years’ celebration so be sure to dig through those closets ahead of time, stated Andrea Guthrie, Manitoba Ag Days Media Coordinator. The program committee has been working very hard at making the 40th line up outstanding. “We have a wide range of dynamic speakers with backgrounds from private industry, governments, and academia who will bring their areas of expertise to the Ag Days crowd,” Phillips says. The complete line up will be released in the upcoming days but to give you a glimpse of the 60 talented speakers here are just a few: Keynote speaker Terry O’Reilly from CBC’s “Under the Influence” will share his insights on “Harvesting the power of storytelling”. Angela Santiago from The Little Potato Company will also join us along with Drew Lerner from World Weather Inc. Thomas Mielke will be flying over from Germany to share his thoughts from Oil World and the list goes on……    

Busy Saturday Night for Brandon Police

Brandon Police Media Release for the last 24-hours. Arrest Warrants Executed On Saturday morning, police stopped a 44-year-old Brandon man in the 500 block of Victoria Avenue. He had two outstanding warrants of arrest for Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference Mischief Under and Breach of Probation. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in the AM for a remand hearing. Public Mischief On Saturday morning, while investigating a 911 call for service, a 46-year-old Brandon woman provided a false name to police. She was identified and charged with public mischief. She was lodged and subsequently released when sober on a Promise to Appear with Undertaking to appear in Court in March. Assault with a Weapon, Utter Threats, Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose On Saturday afternoon, police responded to a report of a domestic assault in the south end of Brandon. A 23-year-old Brandon man was arrested after police determined he threatened his girlfriend with a pair of scissors during an argument. She was not injured. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear for a remand hearing in the morning. Arrest Warrant Executed On Saturday afternoon, Brandon Police arrested a 22-year-old Brandon Woman on an outstanding arrest warrant held by Dauphin RCMP for Theft Under and Fail to Comply with Probation. She was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear for remand in the morning. Breach of Court Order On Saturday afternoon, Brandon Police arrested a 22 year old Brandon man at an address in the west end of Brandon as he was intoxicated and was on a Court order to abstain from consuming liquor. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear for remand in the morning. Theft Under $5000 On Saturday afternoon, police received a complaint from a store in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. Two females attempted to steal merchandise valued at $30. A 72 year old Brandon woman and a 44 year old Brandon woman will appear in Court in March to answer to a charge of Theft Under $5000. Arrest Warrant Executed On Saturday evening, Virden RCMP arrested a 30-year-old Brandon man on two outstanding arrest warrants held by Brandon Police for Sexual Assault, Aggravated Assault, Assault cause Bodily Harm, Breach of Undertaking x2 and Overcoming resistance to Commit an indictable offence. He was remanded in custody until January 16. She indicated she was just assaulted by an unknown male. The victim sustained minor injuries that did not require medical treatment. Other officers located a 19-year-old Brandon man a short distance away. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to be released in the morning on a Promise to Appear in Court in March. Theft Under $5000 On Saturday night, as part of an ongoing investigation, police charged a 33 year old Brandon man who was responsible for stealing a color TV from a store in the 900 block of 18 Street North in the first week of January. He is currently incarcerated at Brandon Correctional Centre on other charges and will appear for remand in the morning on this latest charge. Arrest Warrant Executed On Saturday night, Abbotsford Police arrested a 59 year old Brandon man on outstanding Canada wide arrest warrant held by Brandon Police for Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, Sexual Exploitation and Invitation to Sexual touching. He is in custody in Abbotsford where he will appear for a remand hearing in the morning. Mischief To Property Under $5000 x 2 On Sunday morning, a 31-year-old Brandon man contacted police and reported he had just broken into a building in the CP Rail yard to get warm. Police determined that a small window was broken to gain entry and that he damaged a mirror on a CP rail truck. He was highly intoxicated and was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will be released on a Promise to Appear with Undertaking to appear in Court in March. Care and Control while Impaired, Care and Control while Over 80 Mgs% On Sunday morning, Brandon police received a report of a highly intoxicated person driving a white van in Brandon. Police located this vehicle parked in the south end of Brandon with a 40-year-old Brandon woman behind the wheel with the vehicle running. She provided breath samples over twice the legal limit and was lodged to be released when sober on a Promise to Appear in Court in January. Missing Person Darian INMAN Located On Saturday evening, Mr. INMAN returned and was in good health. Police want to thank the media and the public for their assistance in this matter. Brandon Police Service Searching for Missing Man

The Brandon Police Service is requesting help in locating a missing person, Darian Andrew Inman. He was last seen, wearing a grey jacket and slip on shoes, on January the 9th at his residence in the 100 block of 5th Street. Inman,who has suffered through mental health issues in the past, is a Caucasian male, standing 5'10” tall, 160 pounds, with a medium build. He has blonde hair and hazel eyes. Brandon Man in Custody After Trying to Flee Traffic Stop

A 28-year old passenger of a vehicle tried to run from police, following a vehicle stop in the city's north end of Brandon on Friday evening. Police say they knew the man had outstanding warrants of arrest, attempted to arrest and remove him from the vehicle, when he tried to make a break for it. According to a release the suspect was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. The man has a total of nine arrests for warrants including: Break and enter x 2, fail to appear in Court, mischief to property, public mischief and breach of Probation x 4.
