Wednesday, March 28 Brandon, MB – Credit Union Family Day at the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair was another full day of high-level sporting events and family fun featuring Treehouse characters the Backyardigans, the Prairie Ram Retailers Dog/Horse Relay and a first for the winter fair, the Hobby Horse competition.

Today also highlighted the Manitoba Pork industry with the annual Pork Quality Competition. “Our pork quality competition was a success.” Said Wayne Buhr, Co-Chair of the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair. “All the competitors had a great showing and a portion of the winnings will benefit Ronald McDonald House, the Virden Hospital and the Neepawa Hospital. Thursday, March 29 is BU Kids Day with Canadian family entertainment icon, Fred Penner in the Amphitheatre for two afternoon shows. The ATCO Cup starts the Thursday evening show along with the Redfern Farm Services Pig Scramble, Birds of Prey, the President’s Choice Super Dogs, the Canadian Tire Four Horse Team Championship and the Hackney Pony Pleasure Championship.
