On August 27, 2023 shortly before 11:00 pm, police observed a sport bike racing around the City Of Brandon. Police attempted to stop the bike at 18th street and Park Ave, but the driver failed to stop, and sped away, driving through red lights and popping wheelies, which were captured on video footage from the police cruiser. Police did not pursue, but observed the driver as he turned around and drove passed them again.
The driver, a 20-year-old male, was later identified and arrested at his residence on August 28, 2023. He was released and will appear in court on November 2, 2023 on charges of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Flight While Pursued by Police Officer.
