Incident at Local High School – Suspect in Custody, No Ongoing Threat
At approximately 1:15 PM today, Brandon Police Service responded to a report of an incident at Neelin High School involving two male youths. Officers arrived promptly, and by 1:22 PM, a 16-year-old male suspect was arrested and taken into custody. The 15-year-old male victim received immediate medical attention. His parents have been notified, and care supports are being provided to him and his family.
As a precaution, the school was placed under lockdown. That lockdown has since been lifted. There is no ongoing threat to students, staff, or the surrounding area with respect to this incident. To allow for continued investigation and support, students and families can expect an early dismissal today. School administration will provide further instructions.
