Incident Involving Axe Leads to Arrest and Court Appearance

Assault with a Weapon / Utter Threats / Possess Weapon / Mischief to Property

On May 30th at approximately 3:31 p.m., police received a report that a 23-year-old male had confronted his parents with an axe during an argument over rent money. The male allegedly pushed his mother, struck a coffee table multiple times with the axe, and made threats toward his parents. Police located and arrested the suspect in the 1600 block of McTavish Avenue. He was transported to Brandon Police Service detention cells and held for a court appearance on the morning of May 31st, 2026.

Sexual Assault

On May 31st at 1:38 a.m., police were called to a business in the 000 block of 10th Street after staff reported that a male was inside the store and was afraid to go outside.

Officers determined that the 21-year-old male was hiding after allegedly inappropriately grabbing a female at another location within the business. Police located the suspect, arrested him, and lodged him in Brandon Police Service detention cells. He was held in custody overnight and was scheduled to be released on an Undertaking the following morning. A court appearance has been set for August 10th, 2026.
