The City of Brandon and Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities (Jumpstart) are proud to announce the grand opening of a new Jumpstart Multi Sport Court, located at 510 Maryland Avenue. At over 13,000 square feet, the Jumpstart Multi Sport Court provides space for organized sport and casual play that is designed to accommodate physical, cognitive, and sensory disabilities.

“We are honored to partner with Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities and the local Canadian Tire Dealer to see this inclusive multi-sport court come to Brandon,” said Mayor Rick Chrest. “This space will provide a great opportunity for everyone to be able to play sports in our city.”

Marked for a variety of sports and featuring adjustable equipment, kids of all ages and abilities can play together side-by-side, fostering a stronger, more inclusive, and healthier community. The project was made possible through collaboration with Jumpstart and thanks to the generosity of local Canadian Tire Dealer, James Crighton.

“Through sport, kids have the opportunity to develop valuable life skills such as teamwork, confidence and resiliency,” said Marco Di Buono, President of Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities. “We are proud to partner with the City of Brandon and our local Canadian Tire Dealer to bring the power of inclusive play to the community.”

The Jumpstart Multi Sport Court is part of the Charity’s Inclusive Play Project, which focuses on removing accessibility barriers to sport and play.
