At approximately 6:45 pm, police received a report of an assault in progress in the area of seventh and McTavish. A verbal altercation turned physical, and escalated quickly. A male and a female were observed punching another male in the head. The female left briefly and retrieved a 4X4 piece of lumber, then handed it to the male who proceeded to swing it at the other male. The male sustained injuries to his head, for which he was treated and released from BRHC.

The male who was committing the assault fled upon police arrival. He was pursued on foot and was apprehended a short distance away.
