Police Arrest Suspect After Security Guard Attacked with Knife

Assault with a Weapon / Possession of a Weapon

On July 27^th at 5:30 a.m., police received a report that a male had attempted to stab a security guard at Princess Park. Officers were provided with a description of the suspect and his last known direction of travel. Police located the 28-year-old male a few blocks from the park. The investigation determined that the security guard had been checking the public washrooms when the male was found sleeping inside. After being awakened, the male became agitated, produced a pocketknife, and lunged at the security guard.

When officers located the male, they recovered a pocketknife from his possession. He was arrested and transported to BPS for processing. He will be released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court appearance on September 28^th, 2026.
