Police Arrest Tool Theft Suspect

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

On August 5^th at 10:33 a.m. as well as at 12:49 p.m. – two separate calls regarding the same suspect came into BPS regarding missing power tools. At 1:30 p.m. the 51-year-old male was located and arrested in the 200 block of Lorne Avenue. He was brought to BPS detention cells and will attend court the morning of August 6^th, 2026.

Possession of a Weapon / Assault Peace Officer

On August 6^th, 2026, at 2:29 a.m., police observed a male on Willowdale Crescent who appeared to be agitated and intoxicated. Officers initiated a wellbeing check, during which the 38-year-old male became increasingly agitated and hostile. Despite repeated directions to keep his hands out of his pockets, he continued reaching into them and eventually produced a knife of which he then threw toward the police officers. The male was then advised he was under arrest for Possession of a Weapon. While being taken into custody, he kicked one of the officers, striking the officer in the jaw. The officer was not injured. The male was brought to BPS detention cells and is scheduled to appear in court on the morning of August 6^th, 2026.
