At 11:00 a.m. Friday, a disturbance occurred at a residential care home for the elderly in the city. A 41-year-old Brandon male, under the influence of meth, had entered the building and was attempting to gain entry to a locked office and resident’s rooms when a staff member confronted the male. The male fled the building after pushing the staff member, and taken into custody by police a few blocks away from the incident. No other persons in the building confronted the suspect or had contact with him. Police held the male at the Brandon Correction Centre to appear in court today, where he is facing one count of assault and one count of mischief to property.
