At approx. 9:35 PM Saturday evening, Police were called to an apartment complex in the 200 block of 16th St East for a possible stabbing. Upon arrival, the victim was located in the vestibule area having suffered multiple stab wounds to the upper body. Officers continued to clear the building to ensure there were no more casualties, and in doing so encountered the 54-year-old male suspect. The suspect was still armed with a knife at the time. Officers deployed a Taser to safely gain control of and arrest the suspect. The 43-year-old victim was taken to hospital and at last report was in stable condition. The suspect was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre. It is believed that the suspect and victim were living together in a Domestic relationship. The investigation is continuing.
