The Fast and the Fraudulent —Stolen Bank Cards Lead to Arrest
Theft Under $5000 / Fraud x2
On July 15th, 2026, at approximately 1:41 p.m., BPS received a report of a wallet stolen from a vehicle parked in a business parking lot in the 1200 block of 18th Street. The complainant reported that shortly after the theft, their debit card had been used at a nearby restaurant for a purchase of $35.26, followed by another transaction at a local beer vendor for $30.60. Police located the 44-year-old male matching the suspect description. During the encounter, officers recovered the stolen debit and credit cards which were on the suspect’s person. The male was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells. He will appear in court on the morning of July 16th, 2026, to answer to charges related to the incident.
Mischief Under $5000 / Possession of a Weapon / Failure to Comply Probation
On July 15th, 2026, at approximately 3:42 p.m., BPS officers responded to a report of a violent male at Brandon Regional Health Centre. A 35-year-old male had become aggressive toward staff and had broken a pane of glass in the sallyport area. Hospital security intervened as the male appeared to be reaching into his pocket. A pocketknife was located in the male’s possession. The male is currently bound by two probation orders prohibiting him from possessing any weapons. The male was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells. He will appear in court on the morning of July 16th, 2026.
