At 8:50 p.m. Friday, a motor vehicle accident occurred in the 300 block of Russell Street, where a 54-year-old Brandon woman had driven her truck into several parked vehicles. The driver was attempting to flee the scene prior to police arriving, as she was still behind the wheel of the truck and was revving the engine; however, members of the public at the accident scene prevented her from leaving. The female provided samples of her breath well in excess of the legal limit for driving, and is in custody at the Brandon Correctional Centre for release later today when she is sober. She faces charges of driving while impaired by alcohol and driving over the legal limit of 80 mg%. She will appear in Brandon Provincial Court next week.
