Known for her love of sparkle and bling, quirky laugh, and warm genuine personality, world-class improv-violinist and vocalist Rosemary Siemens has mesmerized audiences around the world since the age of three. Hailing from a century-family-farm in Plum Coulee, Manitoba, and currently based in Vancouver, BC, Rosemary is a small-town farm girl dominating the world-stage playing a 300-year-old violin named Sparkle that was played in King Louis XIV’s orchestra. She’s performed four times at New York’s Carnegie Hall, played private concerts for two living U.S. Presidents, Canada’s Prime Minister, and 16-time GRAMMY Award-winner David Foster, and was the first violinist to ever perform at the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican since its first mass in 1483. She and her pianist Roy Tan recently performed the world premiere of their composition, “The Courtial Concerto” written for the Ambassador of Rome at the world’s largest sacred music festival at the Vatican. In August 2016, Rosemary’s hometown of Plum Coulee, Manitoba, unveiled a sign in her honour at the edge of the town that reads, “Plum Coulee, Home of Rosemary Siemens.” It inspired her to write, record, and launch her debut bluegrass album entitled, Plum Coulee, My Home, featuring her vocal debut with her band Rosemary & The Sweet Sound Revival. Since Rosemary’s release in Oct, 2016, Plum Coulee, My Home, hit #11 on the Canadian Country-Music Charts and won the 2016 Global Music Award for “Best Bluegrass/Country Album”. Rosemary was also featured in Billboard Magazine and her music video of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” with Roy & Rosemary went viral and reached over half a million views on YouTube. Rosemary has performed in over twenty countries as well as the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, Hockey Night in Canada, and concerts for Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, Bentley, Walt Disney World for Children’s Miracle Network, the Latin GRAMMY-Awards, The Miss America Pageant, L'Oréal Paris, The World Entrepreneur Forum, the Egyptian Embassy in Washington, D.C., Canada’s Gospel Music Awards, and recently shared the stage in Nashville with 10-time-GRAMMY-Award-Winner Gospel Artist CeCe Winans. In addition to a demanding performing and touring schedule, Rosemary was recently featured as a star on the world premiere of The Food Network’s new hit show “Chef In Your Ear”. She was also awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her significant contribution to the arts in Canada. Rosemary’s passion is to take her violin everywhere – to unexpected locations to touch, inspire, and make people smile through music. From performing for passengers stranded at the Calgary International Airport during Christmas, to bringing a man to tears with a version of the classic hymn “Holy, Holy, Holy” at Rome’s iconic Colosseum, to taking song-requests for a U.S. retired veteran at a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Nashville, you never know where Rosemary will show up to touch people with her music. You can follow her exciting adventures on social media using #RosemaryPlaysItForward.

A Dog’s Purpose Movie Features Brandon’s Tyler Woods

Without question, my two dogs, Pepsi and Curlin, are a huge part of my life.  These two dogs have changed me more than any one thing in my entire life, so in saying that I am a huge dog lover. Recently the movie has come under fire due to the abuse of a stunt dog named Hercules, a German Shepherd.  The handler was trying to get the dog go into the water in a scene in Winnipeg, and when you watch the clip it is obvious the dog is under severe stress and wants no part of being in the water. Then you see the dog basically being forced under the water.  This, of course, has raised lots of questions, and concerns, from the local dog community and as well PETA.  BDNMB did reach out to the Manitoba Film but they did wish to provide any comment. Same can be said for Brandon’s Tyler Wood.  Tyler, who has been featured in Molson Beer ads plus " For the Moment". Recently he was given the opportunity to be part of the upcoming movie A Dog’s Purpose, featuring Dennis Quaid. “I was hanging out in Winnipeg, with Ryan White of the Arizona Coyotes and Dylan Kellington, and all of the sudden my phone started to blow up after this video was released”  BDNMB asked Woods if he witnessed anything disturbing while the movie was being filmed in Winnipeg, Brandon, and Virden. “No, not at all the scenes in Brandon were dog scenes… and the carnival scene was in Virden and the dogs were always treated very well”.  We asked Tyler his personal opinion of this scene “it was horrible I watched it once and never want to see it again”.  Most of the actors – directors and producers are now echoing Tyler’s thoughts and comments.  Woods did tell BDNMB that the stunt dogs do not work long days on set, as each dog in the movie has two backups in case a dog gets tired or hurt. PETA Response talks about the stunt dog Hercules. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiepbQGq-IM Story from The Guardian, in England. https://www.theguardian.com/film/2017/jan/20/a-dogs-purpose-premiere-video-german-shepherd       (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
