When bdnmb.ca first announced we were hosting a Food Truck Warz event in Brandon, one of the most requested food tucks people asked us to bring to town was a grilled cheese food truck. Well your request has been fulfilled as PVG's Breakfast Club, one of the more popular Winnipeg food trucks, will be coming to Brandon serving up a variety of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, french toast grilled cheese sandwiches, breakfast burgers, and poutines. Those of you zeroing in on some cheesy goodness won't have to search too hard to find this vendor. The truck, wrapped in images of the cast of the popular 80's movie The Breakfast Club, will be among the more uniquely decorated trucks participating in this years event. Be sure to make your way down to the Victoria Inn's parking lot on Saturday, September 16th, and Sunday, September the 17th as the PVG's Breakfast Club food truck will be giving the people of Brandon what they have been missing....fresh, hot, and most importantly. CHEESY, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches.

BDNMB.CA is pleased to introduce two new food vendors who will be attending Food Truck Warz in Brandon, on September 16th & 17th. Added to the lineup for the city's first ever Food Truck Warz are: Tamale Time serving traditional Salvadoran cuisine, and The Churro Stop serving a tasty comfort food found all throughout South America . 'When we discussed bringing this event to Brandon, one of our objectives was to provide people of Brandon with a wide variety of food options” said Jody Sass, bdnmb.ca's Director of Business Operations. “By adding these two new trucks, I think we have done just that”. The pair of Winnipeg based food trucks join the likes of Tia Marias Taqueria (Mexican), KYU Grill (Japanese Fusion), and Island Fusion (Caribbean) who will all be rolling into town for two days serving up a variety of scrumptious street food offerings. Additional trucks previously announced include Adele's Mini Donuts, Pork Floyd, and a Panzerotti stuffed pizza vendor. Tamale Time Started by two young entrepreneurs, serving their mothers traditional recipes, Tamale Time serves up the best dishes of El Salvador. Choose from a varied menu including chicken tamales, papusas, a chicken sandwich or the popular Chicharron & Yucca Fries...a dish that consists of crispy yucca topped with fried seasoned pork and then finished with curtido coleslaw, salsa and crema fesca. Gluten free and vegetarian options available. The Churro Stop The Churro is a Spanish version of a doughnut that is bound to make your mouth water. Recognized as a tasty comfort food throughout all of South America, the churro is long and straight, instead of round. The dough is handcrafted and made to order. In 2015, The Churro Stop came in first place at Manyfest for “best bang for your buck”. Their menu includes classic churros, and churros filled with Dulce de Leche and Bavarian cream. A variety of dipping sauces are also available.

  BDNMB.CA is extremely pleased to announce that KYU Grill, a mobile food vendor serving Japanese fusion, will be participating in our first ever Food Truck Warz this September. KYU Grill is known in Winnipeg as the home of the HEROSHIMA, an original grilled-skewer sandwich served on a sweet bun with Japanese inspired sauces and toppings. In Winnipeg they have been named Winners of Food Truck Wars: People’s Choice Award two years in a row (2015 & 2016). In addition to the popular HERISHIMA they offer a wide variety of street eats including: KYU corn, spring rolls, lettuce wraps, poutine and wings. Over the next several weeks bdnmb.ca will be profiling many of the different food trucks participating in Brandon's first ever Food Truck Warz.  This years event is being held inside the Victoria Inn parking lot on September 16th & 17th. Today, we take a look at Island Fusion, a very popular food truck out of Winnipeg. Island Fusion provides quality food at reasonable prices with a menu that is simple, yet explosive with flavours.  The menu takes on concepts of the past traditions, and utilizes local ingredients to create fresh and tasty dishes including jerk chicken wings, Roti (chicken or beef), Aloo Pies, Island Tacos, and Civiche con Tostones to name a few.  All of their products are homemade including their breads.  The final product is a combination of traditional and modern Caribbean cuisine created by a passionate and creative chef, Richard Mohammad. BDNMB.CA's first ever Food Truck Warz debuts for two days in mid-September, Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 17th. With trucks from across the province ready to descend on the Wheat City, Food Truck Warz will get underway at 11:00 a.m. each day inside the Victoria Inn parking lot. The 1st annual Food Truck Warz will feature approximately 12-14 gourmet food trucks serving savory comfort food, delicious international dishes and scrumptious sweet treats. Food truck fans can enjoy delicious eats from trucks like Tia Maria's Taqueria, Panzerotti Stuffed Pizza, Adele's Mini Donuts, and Pork Floyd, to name a few. Additional food trucks will be named in the weeks leading up to the event. "There will be plenty of variety and we are excited to be hosting a family friendly event” said bdnmb.ca's Darryl Wolski. “I encourage everyone to get down to the Victoria Inn and try some curbside creations from some of the best food trucks in the Province”. Food Truck Warz will be held on Saturday, September the 16th from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm and on Sunday, September the 17th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The event is coordinated by bdnmb.ca in conjunction with the Victoria Inn. Admission is free.
