Heritage Co-op Coming to Rivers, Spring 2019

Heritage Co-op has purchased the Rivers Bigway Foods store and is proud to officially become a member of the Rivers community in spring 2019. The recent sale has the current owners and Heritage Co-op management and board excited about the future of the store. “We’re ready to show Rivers the Co-op difference, and that extends beyond great products and service,” said Heritage Co-op General Manager, Lorne Zacharias. “We strive to be a true member of the communities we serve, and that means supporting community groups and initiatives and caring about the causes our community members care about.” Customers can always be sure that their dollars spent will be invested back into the communities served. Heritage Co-op also encourages community members to take advantage of Co-op’s lifetime membership benefits – another important feature of the Co-op difference. Members are owners and share in the profits of their Co-op. Purchases made at Heritage Co-op locations gain members equity, and each year members receive cash back for a portion of this equity. “It’s easy to earn cash back just by shopping at Co-op for your everyday needs, and it’s easy to shop at Heritage Co-op locations, now in seven different communities,” said Zacharias. “With Rivers’ close proximity to Brandon, shoppers will also be happy to know that they can gain equity when they shop at our Rivers location and our Brandon location.” Heritage Co-op looks forward to providing a truly local grocery option for the Rivers community and getting to know the community and its members better. “We have long felt like Rivers was part of our overall Heritage Co-op community, so it’s exciting that we can now officially call Rivers one of our communities served” said Zacharias. Heritage Co-op will officially take ownership in April 2019, with the specific date to be determined. During this transition, the store will operate as usual. All Rivers Bigway Foods employees will be given the opportunity to remain employed at the store once Heritage Co-op takes ownership. Heritage Co-op values the business of the customers at this store and will ensure that the store provides the highest level of service. Customers can look forward to seeing Co-op label products stocked throughout the store once the transition is complete. A grand opening event will follow in summer 2019.

BDNMB.CA surpasses 15,000 Facebook followers, over $10,000 in prizes awarded in past 12-months

March 13, 2019 will mark 3-years in business for www.bdnmb.ca. To say that the popularity of the web site has exceeded our expectations would be an understatement.  In just three short years, we have surpassed 15,000 Facebook followers and traffic to the web site continues to grow with each passing month.  In the past 12-months, with the generous support of many different companies and sponsors, we have been able to award over $10,000 in prizes to our followers.  Stay tuned to our Facebook page as we have many additional giveaways scheduled in the coming weeks including our big 3-year anniversary prize package. The format we selected to report the latest news, sports and entertainment information to our readers quickly proved to be very popular.  Since its inception several other local online formats have looked to emulate the way we present the information on both our web site and Facebook page.  Our advertising options and business features continue to be very popular and productive, as the latest testimonial below illustrates. The article had a huge impact on our business. It was able to reach tons of people in the local area, something we wouldn’t of been able to do on our own. The response from the people was very convincing. BDNMB.CA helped us connect with so many more people, which has really accelerated our sales.   Justin Holder--Prairie Twigs Through our sister company Food Truck Warz we have been to raise both awareness and funds for many charities including Westman Dreams for Kids, Pawsitive Communities and Career Connections.  As a community minded organization we will continue to support these types of initiatives and more. Thank-you again to everyone who has played a role in the growth and expansion of www.bdnmb.ca.  We have several new promotions starting shortly and are currently working on adding several new sections to the web site as well.

CW2 Construction & Design Ltd. and Guardian Fencing Ltd. Announce New Location

Brandon, MB - Today, two local start-ups hosted an event to officially open their new office and shop location at 402 Park Avenue East.   CW2 is a full service construction company providing general contracting for commercial, industrial, and residential construction. Where project bonding and COR certification usually takes five to seven years, CW2 achieved both within their first nine months. CW2’s credited projects range from less than a thousand to millions of dollars in scope.   When their doors opened in October of 2016, they managed projects with two field people, today, 24 months later; they lead a team of 20 people across multiple projects with competing timelines. They bring their technical knowledge, experience, and resourcefulness to the delivery of construction services. This is truly what sets them apart from their competition; they understand that champions are always looking to do better. Their dedication to providing superior service to clients, resolve for delivering exceptional work, capacity for innovation and problem solving, and unwavering commitment to improving the communities they serve, not only make CW2 a great place to work, but a company with which clients want to work.   Guardian Fencing Ltd. is a fully encompassed fencing company that can meet all fencing requirements and applications. They serve customers in Manitoba and Saskatchewan with a variety of fencing applications. They are most proud of their commitment to service and of the 30,000 feet of fence recently completed on CFB Shilo. Crews worked nine months straight through the winter to deliver the fence to Defence Construction Canada on schedule. The team encountered long cold winter days, several drill bits, seven changes that added and changed fence, dealt with, and waited on, CN Railway for a gate issue and still completed the fence in the agreed upon time frame. This was a huge win for Guardian and CFB Shilo.   Both companies are owned by entrepreneurs that create a diverse and robust industry and project management skill set.   The companies are hosting a joint open house this Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 5:00 PM to showcase their new location and announce LaBuick into the group.
