Employee assaulted at Brandon business

On December 16, 2022, at 6:56 pm, police were dispatched to an incident that had occurred at a business located in the 100 block of Victoria Avenue East.  Police learned that two females, who were in the process of stealing merchandise, had assaulted a staff member.  One of the females, aged 24 years, assaulted a staff member while fleeing the business.  The two females were located and arrested in the 100 block of 1st Street.  The 24 year old female has been charged with Robbery and the second female, 27 years of age, has been charged with Theft Under $5000.00.  The females were detained at the Brandon Police Service and later released with future court dates.

The City of Brandon is excited to announce that a free, safe bus ride to and from your New Year’s Eve party awaits you, thanks to the efforts of Brandon Transit and its generous community sponsors! From 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 31st (New Year’s Eve) to 3 a.m. on Sunday, January 1st (New Year’s Day), Brandon Transit will run its buses on a regular modified (hourly) service. “CRIME STOPPERS WANTED” for: December 16th, 2022 The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating this person who is: “WANTED BY POLICE” Terrance James MOAR (27 years) FOR Failing to Comply with Release Order.  Terrance James MOAR is wanted for two counts of failing to comply with a release order.  While on charge for assault and weapons related offenses, Terrance MOAR failed to comply with his release order.  On December 6th, 2022, a warrant for his arrest was issued by the courts as his current whereabouts is unknown ****************************************************************** CRIME OF THE WEEK for December 16th, 2022 The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a Theft and Fraud.  On December 6th, 2022, at approximately 9:12am, a male suspect entered an employee area of a business in the 900’ block of 18th Street North.  The suspect proceeded to steal items from the employee area.  The suspect then attempted a transaction with a debit card; however, it was declined.  The suspect is described as male, average build, wearing a brown winter jacket, safety vest, blue jeans, and a black toque. $100,000 winner in Brandon keeps calm and collected

Brandon resident Wayne Suski took home a cool $100,000 thanks to the EXTRA he added to his ticket for the October 19 LOTTO 6/49 draw. He purchased his ticket from Quik stop at 1505 B 1st Street in Brandon on October 14. He won by matching the last six digits of the winning EXTRA number - 2917609. A month later, Suski t was at the store when he asked the cashier to check some of his tickets for him . After a few non-winners, the cashier scanned the last ticket and discovered he had won $100,000! The cashier was excited, but Suski played it cool. “I was okay,” Suski said. “I did have to tell the cashier to calm down.” Suski said he’s looking forward to using his windfall to take a vacation in the new year. “It feels awesome,” he added.

Break and Enter to Business Compound

On December 12, 2022, police responded to a report of a male behaving suspiciously in the 3400 block of McDonald Ave as he was carrying a weed-wacker and other items believed to be stolen.  Police located and identified the male suspect and recovered property suspected to have been stolen.  Further investigation revealed that a business in the 3500 block of McDonald Ave was broken into as a fenced in compound had been cut and storages sheds had been broken into.  It is unknown what was taken from the sheds, but the investigation continues.
