Stolen Firearms Recovered

On January 3, 2023, police attended a residence in the 3300 block of McDonald Ave in search of a 45-year-old male with outstanding charges.  While investigating that incident, police observed two firearms in the residence.  The tenant was not authorized to possess the firearms.  As a result, police seized the firearms and a 28-year-old male was arrested and charged for Unauthorized Possession of Firearms. On January 4, 2023, Brandon Police Service received a report of a Break, Enter and Theft from a residence in the 2000 block of 26th Street.  Six firearms were reported stolen from the residence.  During the investigation, police were able to confirm that the two firearms seized from McDonald Ave were stolen from the residence on 26th Street. On January 5, 2023, members of the Brandon Police Service Major Crime Unit and Patrol Division executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of 16th Street.  During the search warrant, police recovered the four remaining firearms that had been stolen from the Break and Enter on 26th Street. As a result of the thorough investigation conducted by the Brandon Police Service Patrol Division, Forensic Identification Unit and the Major Crime Unit, police were able to successfully recover the six stolen firearms and prevent them from entering the streets of Brandon. A 29-year-old female and a 32-year-old male have been arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime x4, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x4, and Careless Storage of a Firearm x4.  The female was later released and is scheduled to appear in court in March 2023. The male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.  Additional charges are expected in relation to the two firearms that were seized from the residence on McDonald Ave.  Police continue to investigate the Break and Enter. Firearms and jewelry reported stolen from Brandon residence

On January 4, 2023, police received a report of a break and enter to a residence in the 2000 block of 26th Street.  The suspect(s) gained entry and stole numerous firearms and jewelry from the residence. Male refuses to pay for breakfast, arrested for fraud food

(Stock Photo) On January 3, 2023, at approximately 10:30 am, police attended a restaurant in the 1500 block of 18th Street for a 36-year-old male who refused to pay for his breakfast.  The male was given numerous opportunities to pay for the meal with negative results.  The male was ultimately arrested for Fraud Food and later released to appear in court in February 2023.

Source: Brandon Police Service News Release On January 3, 2023, at approximately 1:30 am, police attended to a residence in the 3300 block of McDonald Ave in search of a 45-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with a Release Order X5, Breach of Release Order X5, Break and Enter, Break and Enter with Intent, Mischief to Property Under $5,000, Theft Under X2, and Breach of Undertaking.  The 45-year-old male was located and arrested inside the residence.  He was found to be in possession of approximately 16 grams of methamphetamine.  As a result, the male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today for possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, as well as the outstanding charges.

Cab driver reports robbery at knifepoint in Brandon

At 0513 hrs, a taxi driver contacted 911 reported he was robbed by a man with a knife.  The driver picked up a fare on 26th St and transported him to the 200 block of 11th St East.  The male pulled out a small knife and held it to the drivers neck and stole approximately $200.   The suspect ran through the yard of a nearby house.  Officers responded however the suspect was not located.
