On August 21st at approximately 4:30 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of 18th Street North. Two loaded pistols were located in the vehicle. As a result of the investigation, two individuals from out of province —a 19-year-old male and a 23-year-old male—were arrested, charged, and held in custody pending a court appearance. Third and fourth individuals from Winnipeg, an 18-year-old male and a 23-year-old male, were also arrested and subsequently released on an Undertaking both with court dates of November 13th. All four individuals are receiving numerous firearms charges. The driver, 23-year-old male from Calgary, did not have valid driver’s licence and was found to be wanted on both a Calgary Police and Regina Police Warrant for Arrest. The vehicle was towed.

Wanted Man Arrested After Suspicious Activity Report Leads Police to Theft Suspect

On August 19, 2025, at approximately 2:43 PM, police responded to a report of a suspicious male in the 600 block of 18th Street. Upon arrival, officers identified the individual as being wanted in connection with a Theft Under $5,000 and a Failure to Comply with an Undertaking, both related to an incident on August 3, 2025. In that earlier incident, the 49-year-old male had stolen merchandise valued at $259.78 from a business located in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. At the time, he was under conditions not to attend the premises as part of an existing Undertaking. The male was arrested without incident, transported to the Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention facility, and is scheduled to appear in court on the morning of August 20, 2025.

Police Arrest Two Suspects in Attempted Armed Robbery on 9th Street

On August 18th at 8:13PM a male reported he was walking home with his groceries when he was approached by a male and female in the 300 block of 9th Street. The male asked what he had while attempting to cut him. Onlookers gathered and the suspects fled. At 1:21AM police located the suspects matching the description. The 33-year-old male was arrested, held in BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning. He was charged with Attempted Armed Robbery and Failure to Comply Probation Order (Abstain from owning, possessing, or carrying a weapon). The 23-year-old female was charged with Party to the Offence of Armed Robbery. She was released via Undertaking with a court date of October 16th, 2025.

BMO New Location

Bank of Montreal will open a new location at 1650 Park Ave. ( former location of Kam Lung ). Currently the location is in the process of being demolished and in 2026 BMO and Firehouse Subs will open beside Wendy's. Further details are not available at this time. Two Arrested After Stolen SUV Recovered, Impaired Driver Arrested After Hit-and-Run

On 2025-08-15, police received a report of the theft of a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe from the 1400 block of 6th Street.  On the same date, police located the vehicle while being operated by a 35-year-old male, whereby he was arrested and charged for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.  Further investigation has revealed that this male received the vehicle and keys from a 32-year-old male associate who had previously gained access to the vehicle owner’s residence and stole the keys.  On 2025-08-16 at 2051 hrs,  police located and arrested the second suspect in the 1400 block of 7th Street.  The individual has been lodged to appear in court on 2025-08-17. mpaired Operation Cause Bodily Harm/Failure to Remain at the Scene of an Accident On 2025-08-17 at 0110 hrs, police received a report from a homeowner on Canada Crescent regarding a pedestrian that was struck by an SUV which then fled the scene.  The operator of the vehicle was known to the witness and the 24-year-old male pedestrian was transported to hospital by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries.  Police located the 22-year-old male suspect at his residence and was determined to be impaired by alcohol.  The individual was subsequently conveyed to BPS were breath samples confirmed him to have a blood alcohol concentration in excess of the legal limit.  The accused has been released with conditions to appear in court on 2025-10-20.
