Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release Early Sunday morning, police received a complaint of a male sleeping on a couch inside a residence where he did not reside. The 39 year old from Brandon was found highly intoxicated, with no one to be turned over to, and was held at the Brandon Correctional Center until sober. The homeowner was not interested in pursuing criminal charges.

Meth possession charges laid after BPS execute search warrant in Brandon

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release At 3:30 p.m. yesterday, a search of a home in the north end of the city occurred under the authority of a warrant to search a residence. As a result, a 23-year-old female and 41 year old male both from Brandon, haven been charged with possession of meth. The male was released upon completion of the search and will appear in court in October. The female will appear in court in October, charged with possession of meth, and was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre to appear today on charges she was wanted for on an outstanding arrest warrant including theft, fail to appear in court, and fail to comply with a probation order.

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release At approximately 5:30pm police conducted a traffic stop in the 900’ block of Princess Ave. A 28 year old female was found to be in possession of meth, cocaine, and psilocybin (mushrooms) as well as a quantity of cash. Street value of the drugs were estimated at approximately $1000. Police later conducted a search warrant on her residence in the 200’ block of 1st Street and located a sawed off 20 gauge shotgun with ammunition as well as other evidence of drug trafficking. She was lodged at BCC for court in the morning and faces charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking meth, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking psilocybin, possess prohibited firearm with ammunition, and possession of property obtained by crime.

18 year old Brandon woman facing charges after alleged home invasion

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release At 9:41pm, police responded to a disturbance in the 200’ block of Dufferin Ave. Police located an 18 year old Brandon woman who was wanted by Souris RCMP for a home invasion that occurred on August 16. She was lodged at BCC for court and faces charges of robbery with a firearm, assault with a weapon, use firearm while committing and offence, pointing a firearm, and possess firearm while prohibited.

Rotary Club of Brandon fall book sale

Book lovers have another reason to celebrate as the local Rotary club will host its Fall Book Sale on Sept 5 to 7 at the Victoria Inn’s Grand Ballroom. Choose from a well-organized selection of over 60,000 books including best sellers, fiction, cooking, popular authors and children's literature. Hard cover fiction novels sell for $4, or 3 for $10. All the money raised goes back into to the community helping various organizations and projects. The Fall Book Sale will take place from 9 am until 8 pm Sept 5; 9 am until 6 pm on Sept 6; and 9 am until 2 pm on Sept 7. Every child in attendance will receive a free book.
