On September 5, 2023, shortly before 4:00 pm, police responded to a report of an assault which occurred at a residence.  The investigation revealed that the 26-year-old male suspect struck an adult female victim and then smashed the front windshield of her vehicle.  He was located in the area of the residence hiding from police.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to be released once sober to appear in court on November 16, 2023, on charges of Assault and Mischief Under $5000.

On September 2, 2023, at approximately 8:51 am, police received a report of a homicide at a residence in Highland Park Mobile Home Estates. Members attended to the residence and located a 63-year-old female, with serious injuries who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police immediately arrested a male occupant of the residence, 42-year-old, Stephen TEETAERT of Brandon. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and appeared in court on a charge of Second Degree Murder.

On August 31, 2023, following an investigation into the murder of 46-year-old Robert HALL, police located and arrested 25-year-old Jarrod PAUL on a charge of Second-Degree Murder.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today. Original release from August 28, 2023: On August 27, 2023, at 1:34 pm, police happened across an individual laying in the 900 block of Pacific Ave.  At approximately the same time, a 911 call was received reporting a possible stabbing in the same area.  The 46-year-old male victim that police had located was suffering from injuries consistent with a stabbing.  He was transported to the hospital via ambulance where he later succumbed to his injuries. Members of BPS Major Crime Section and Forensic Identification Unit attended to the scene where the victim was located to conduct an investigation into the homicide.  The investigation continues. On 2023-08-31 at 0200 hrs, police were patrolling the 1100 block of 4th Street when a group of individuals were observed acting suspiciously and entering several residential yards.  A pedestrian stop was initiated with one of the individuals that was discovered to be intoxicated and in possession of a canister of bear spray, in addition to 1.5 grams of meth.  A 31-year-old male was lodged at BPS and will be released when sober with conditions to appear in court on a future date.

On August 27, 2023 shortly before 11:00 pm, police observed a sport bike racing around the City Of Brandon.  Police attempted to stop the bike at 18th street and Park Ave, but the driver failed to stop, and sped away, driving through red lights and popping wheelies, which were captured on video footage from the police cruiser.  Police did not pursue, but observed the driver as he turned around and drove passed them again. The driver, a 20-year-old male, was later identified and arrested at his residence on August 28, 2023.  He was released and will appear in court on November 2, 2023 on charges of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Flight While Pursued by Police Officer.
