Upcoming sports card and memorabilia show in Brandon

Looking to buy-trade-sell some sports cards or memorabilia? CK Sports Cards will be holding a 1-day show at the Victoria Inn Hotel & Convention Centre (3550 Victoria Avenue) on Saturday September 9, 2023 from 10am-4pm. Come check out vendors that will be showcasing cards and memorabilia from all you favorite sports.  Raw grading submissions will also be available. Admission tickets are available at the door for $2 or online on their website for $1. Vendors interested in setting up a table can contact the host.

Whitecloud brings the Stanley Cup to Sioux Valley Dakota Nation

Zach Whitecloud signed with the Vegas Golden Knights after finishing his collegiate career in March of 2018. He made his NHL debut later that year (April 5, 2018) against the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers. This June, the former Brandon AAA Midget Wheat King and Virden Oil Capital, and his Vegas Golden Knight teammates captured the Stanley Cup. Today was Whiteclouds day with the cup which included a stop in Sioux Valley Dakota Nation.

Wendy’s Summer Hockey League ends with a perfect season

The Virden Mainline Scramblers went into the final game last night at J and G Homes Arena with a perfect 12 -0 season.  However the WCHA Puckers had a full team filled with various Junior and Pro players and they wanted the perfect season to end on Monday night. Familiar names back in hunt for a Tamarack title

Following 2-days of men’s qualifying action, the top 16 golfers who will go on to compete in the Tamarack Golf Tournament’s Championship Flight have been determined. A number of previous winners are among the names of those who qualified including Kody Fawcett (2018), Jarod Crane (2022), Derek Solman (2021), and Dustin Dyck (2020 & 2019). Tee times for the Championship flight start at 8:12am tomorrow morning and the full list of qualifiers for each flight can be viewed here. In addition to the Championship Flight there are 12 other flights up for grabs.  Each flight consists of 16 golfers. The Tamarack Golf Tournament is a week long match play event that includes all levels of golfers, from juniors to seniors in their appropriate divisions.  This years tournament is taking place August 18th – 26th at the Clear Lake Golf Course.

U17 Westman Magic win gold at the Western Canadian Championships

The U17 Westman Magic upended Smitty's Terminators 12-4 on Sunday in Winkler to capture the Western Canadian Championship title. They finished off the round robin seeded 3rd with a record of 4-2. The squad then defeated the Abbotsford Outlaws 5-2 and the Lloydminster Liners 13-6 in semi-final action, prior to meeting Smitty's in the championship tilt.
