Counterfeit Cash Couldn’t Mask the Crime, Firearms, Drugs and Failure to Comply

Use Counterfeit Money

A 28-year-old male used a counterfeit $50 bill to purchase a balaclava from a store at Brandon Shoppers Mall on June 29th. It wasn’t until after the transaction had occurred and the suspect had left that the fraudulent bill was identified. Video surveillance helped police identify the male. Upon locating the male, he was found to be in possession of the balaclava. The male was arrested, brought to BPS detention cells and held for court in the morning on June 30th, 2026.

Firearms, Drugs and Failure to Comply

On June 29th at 4:26 p.m. police were called to the 2500 block of McDonald Avenue for a disturbance. A 26-year-old male, found to be the primary cause of issues, was arrested. Further investigation revealed that the male was in possession of a hunting knife, a sawed-off rifle with the serial # and model # ground off, a box of ammunition, 5.84 grams of cocaine, .41 grams of methamphetamine, a scale and unused baggies.

The male was charged with Unauthorized Possession of Firearms, Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition, Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, Possession of a Weapon, Failure to Comply Release Order x2, Failure to Comply Probation, Possession for Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, and Possession of Meth.  The male was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells and held for court in the morning on June 30th, 2026.
