Former Brandon resident killed in Vegas shooting
Tara Roe, who was from Okotoks Alberta and originally from Brandon, was one of the 59 people who died Sunday night in Las Vegas while attending the “Route 91 Harvest Festival”. Tara (formerly known as Tara Smith) was the 4th reported Canadian killed in the mass murder.
Another former Brandon resident Jesse Zetariuk recalled his interactions and memories of “Smitty”. “What can I say she was a fantastic mom and her two boys loved her without condition. She was an amazing mother” said Zetariuk.
Jesse said that Tara was a super mom attending hockey, baseball and lacrosse practices and games. But when it came to dancing, Jessie said it wasn’t one her Tara’s strongest features. “She was always on the dance-floor but a really bad dancer….but always the life of the party”.
Zetariuk became friends with Tara at the age of 12 as she was best friends with his sister. “Her husband Zach is just an amazing guy…and Tara always had your back” continued Zetaiuk.
Jesse summed up his comments about Tara with a single statement “ She had the heart the size of a pickup truck”.
