Motorcyclist Ticketed After Early-Morning Police Stop in Brandon

On August 28th at approximately 1:54 a.m., BPS officers observed a motorcycle travelling northbound on 34th Street at a high rate of speed before turning onto Centennial Boulevard. Officers activated their emergency lights, but the driver looked at police and continued driving for approximately a block and a half before pulling into his residence and riding directly into the backyard. Officers were able to intercept the driver before he entered the residence. The investigation revealed the 50-year-old male did not hold a valid Class 6 motorcycle license, and he failed an Approved Screening Device (ASD) test. His motorcycle was impounded for 90 days. The male was issued tickets for driving without a valid license, driving without liability insurance, and operating an unregistered vehicle.
