Brandon Wheat King forward Dawson Pasternak recently travelled to Liberic, Czechia to participate in the U20 World Ball Hockey Championships and returned home a world champion. He, and his Team Canada teammates, captured the 5-team tournament defeating Slovakia 10-3 in the tournament final. Pasternak had a quiet start to the tournament (4A, 4 GP) before exploding for 3 goals and 3 assists in the championship matchup.

Paternak, from Winnipeg, was acquired by the Wheat Kings in January from the Portland Winterhawks and finished the season with 22 points in 27 games in a Wheat Kings uniform.
