Brandon product Nolan Chastko is celebrating a major milestone in his hockey career after helping the Everett Silvertips capture the 2026 WHL Championship.

Known for his steady play and strong work ethic, he played an important role throughout Everett’s playoff run as the Silvertips battled through a competitive Western Hockey League postseason to claim the league title.

For Chastko, the championship marks another significant step in a hockey journey that began in Westman. Prior to joining the WHL ranks, he suited up for the Brandon Wheat Kings U18 AAA program, where he developed into one of the region’s promising young prospects. He later continued his development with the Virden Oil Capitals in the MJHL.

Coaches and teammates over the years have praised Chastko for his leadership, defensive reliability, and ability to contribute in key moments. Those qualities were on display throughout Everett’s championship season. He finished the post season with 9 points in 18 games.

The WHL title is a proud achievement not only for Chastko, but also for the Brandon and Westman hockey community, which has watched his development from the minor hockey ranks to major junior success.

With the championship now secured, Chastko and the Silvertips will turn their attention toward continuing their strong season on the national stage, while hockey fans back home in Brandon celebrate one of their own reaching the top of the WHL.
