Police Arrest Intoxicated Man After Threats and Disturbance at Brandon business

At 2:43 pm, Police received a call from a business in the 900 block of 18th St North, indicating an intoxicated male was in the building and causing a disturbance and trying to fight. Investigation revealed the 41-year-old male entered the business and began making demands of the staff in relation to his order. When confronted by the store manager, the suspect made threats towards and attempted to fight the manager. The suspect sustained a minor injury which required medical treatment as a result of this altercation. The suspect was arrested for assault and uttering threats and was held in custody until sober and released on an undertaking.

Search Warrant Leads to Triple Bust of Cocaine, Cash, and Cartons

CDSA (Controlled Drugs & Substances Act) – Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking On November 26th at 6:48 p.m. members from the BPS Organized Crime Section executed a CDSA search warrant in the 700 block of 20th Street regarding a specific 38-year-old female. During the search police discovered 3 ounces of cocaine, approximately $15,000 in cash, and 60 cartons of unstamped tobacco. The female was arrested, processed and later released on an Undertaking with a court date of February 12th, 2026. Assault / Mischief Under On November 27th at 2:13 a.m., police responded to a disturbance at an apartment building on Cornell Bay. Upon arrival, officers learned that a 37-year-old male had assaulted a 34-year-old female by striking her in the face with his elbow and had also damaged her apartment by breaking two windows. The male was arrested and transported to the Brandon Police Service detention facility. He was held in custody to appear in court the morning of November 27, 2025.  

Minnedosa RCMP respond to fatal scooter collision

On November 25, 2025, at 4:00 pm, Minnedosa RCMP were notified about an injured male on 3rd Avenue NW in Minnedosa. Officers responded immediately and located an injured male laying on the road with an electric scooter nearby. Emergency Medical Services treated the 46-year-old male at the scene and then transported him to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The investigation determined the male was travelling down 3rd Street NW on the scooter when he lost control and collided with the roadway. He was not wearing a helmet. BPS execute warrants from 3 different police services

Arrest Warrants In the past 24 hours, the Brandon Police Service (BPS) arrested four individuals on outstanding Warrants for Arrest. One individual was arrested on an RCMP warrant and released on an Appearance Notice to attend court in Winnipeg on January 7, 2026. Another was arrested on a Winnipeg Police Service warrant and held for court in the morning. The remaining two individuals were arrested on BPS warrants; one was held for court in the morning, while the other was released on an Undertaking with a future court date. Assault x2 / Failure to Comply Release Order Following an investigation into a November 23, 2025, incident in which a 28-year-old woman was assaulted by her 30-year-old boyfriend, Brandon Police located and arrested the male on November 26, 2025. He was held in BPS detention cells and is scheduled to appear in court on the morning of November 26, 2025.

The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating this person who is: “WANTED BY POLICE” Seth SMOKE-MOAR FOR Failure to Comply Release Order x3 Failure to Attend Prints . Smoke-Moar is currently subject to a court order and has failed to comply with its conditions. Since October 9, 2025, he has not reported to the Provincial Director or their designate, and he has also failed to attend for required fingerprinting.  As a result of these violations, a warrant has been issued for his arrest. ************* CRIME OF THE WEEK for November 24th, 2025 The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a THEFT.  On November 7, within a 30-minute period, these two males acted in concert to shoplift a substantial quantity of merchandise from a store in the 100 block of Victoria Avenue East.
