57-year-old Brandon woman arrested after allegedly assaulting male

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release Police responded to a domestic incident at a residence in the 1000 block of Patricia Avenue. The male victim had been assaulted and fallen into a fridge and was transported to the Brandon Regional Health Centre with minor injuries. A 57-year-old Brandon women was arrested for Assault and released to appear in Court in July.

Multiple thefts from vehicles reported to police

Brandon Police Service Media Release Thefts from  Vehicles  A number of thefts from vehicles occurred overnight on Friday night that were reported to police on Saturday.  At least seven vehicles were rummaged through with a number of items taken ranging from wallets and cash to miscellaneous items.  In all cases, the vehicles were left unlocked.  Police are reminding the public to lock vehicles and keep valuable items out of sight.

BPS request assistance in regards to a hit and run with a pedestrian.

Brandon Police Service Media Release The Brandon Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in regards to a Hit and Run with a Pedestrian. At 11:39 a.m., Police received a report of a Motor Vehicle versus Pedestrian hit and run. The investigation revealed that at approximately 2:15 a.m., a male was struck by a vehicle while walking down the back lane in the 100 block between 2nd and 3rd street. The suspect vehicle failed to remain at the scene. A 37-year-old Brandon man attended to the Brandon Regional Health Centre with several non-life threatening injuries. At this time Police do not have any suspects in relation to this occurrence. The Brandon Police Service are requesting that anyone that has any information regarding this incident contact the Police Service at 204-729-2345 or Brandon Crime Stoppers at 204-727-(TIPS) 8477.

City of Brandon 2017 Public Sector Compensation Disclosure Report

In accordance with provisions of The Public Sector Compensation Disclosure Act, a report has been prepared disclosing compensation paid to all members of Council of The City of Brandon, and a list of officers or employees who received compensation from The City of Brandon in excess of $50,000 for the year ended December 31, 2017. The list is available for viewing in the City of Brandon Legislative Services Office, 2nd Floor, 410 – 9th Street, Brandon, MB during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1:15 p.m to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Louis Riel Bursary Fund established at Assiniboine Community College

Source: ACC Blog Assiniboine Community College is excited to announce today – National Indigenous Peoples Day – the generous gift of $250,000 made by the Louis Riel Institute, the educational affiliate of the Manitoba Métis Federation, to establish a bursary endowment fund known as the Louis Riel Bursary. The announcement was made in Selkirk, Man. earlier this afternoon with David Chartrand, MMF President, Joan Ledoux, Minister of Provincial Education with the MMF Board of Directors, and Dr. Deanna Rexe, Assiniboine’s Vice-President, Academic. This endowment will provide assistance to qualified Métis students so they may take advantage of educational opportunities provided by Assiniboine Community College.
