Mobile car wash service now available in Brandon

In the past several years, a few different businesses offering mobile services (oil changes, veterinary house call care) have opened in the city. You can now add a mobile car wash to the list. Resurrection Paint Correction and Auto Detailing operate a self-contained mobile wash unit which will travel to your vehicle's location and offer a variety of cleaning services including a quick exterior wash or an interior clean. Darren Darvill tells bdnmb.ca "We live in a fast paced lifestyle so we come to you to wash and vacuum and wipe your vehicle down". Contact them today and mention the bdnmb.ca article to receive $10 off your mobile wash. Offer ends May 10, 2019. You can book your appointment here or by calling 204-761-4112. In addition to the mobile wash service Resurrection Paint Correction and Auto Detailing also offers a variety of services at their 612-18th Street location including: leather conditioning, carpet & upholstery cleaning, ceramic coating, paint correction and more. Brandon auto dealer moving into new larger location

Lucky 7 Auto Sales, a local used auto dealer with in-house financing, will soon have a new address to call home. In business for two years now, the dealership decided it was time to relocate to a larger location (1625 Parker Blvd) to better serve their expanding client base. Management told bdnmb.ca that there are several advantages to moving into the bigger, brighter facility including a paved parking lot and a separate entrance for the service shop. There will be three service bays for their technicians and full vehicle auto-detailing will be available. The service shop will open May 1, 2019 and they will start selling vehicles out of the new address on June 1, 2019. Lucky 7 Auto Sales is currently located at 1740 18th Street North.

Sportsplex to eliminate food concession services

Brandon, MB – The City of Brandon and management and staff at Brandon’s Community Sportsplex wish to notify customers and the general public that as of Friday, April 26th, 2019, the City of Brandon will no longer provide food concession services at the Sportsplex. After many attempts in the past several years to provide food choices in a financially sustainable manner, it has been decided it is time to move to a different food service model. Beginning on Wednesday, May 1st, 2019, customers who require light food alternatives can purchase beverages and snacks from the facility’s expanded vending machine options. The City of Brandon appreciates the public’s support of past concession services provided at the facility and asks for continued support from patrons as it works through this transition of service. User groups with questions about group or event food options at the Sportsplex are encouraged to email Sportsplex Facility Manager Jeff Elliott at j.elliott@brandon.ca. More information about the programming at Brandon’s Community Sportsplex can be found via Brandon’s online recreation portal, https://mycommunity.brandon.ca/.

Chez Angela keeping it local

For James and Angela Chambers the owners of Chez Angela on 10th street the one important message they want to get across is this is a work in progress. James is the “front man” greeting people at the door and offering samples and keeping everything rolling online while Angela is preparing the menu and overseeing the 17 staff that make all their baking and food fresh on a daily basis. "If we don’t sell it within 24 – 36 hours we will donate it to Bear Clan, BU Students, or Helping Hands" said Chambers. Chez Angela has a really strong connection to the community and to local farmers that supply them with their ingredients. They hire local and buy local and take time to bake from scratch. If you follow them on Facebook they have their own spin on karaoke. James says "I pick a song from the ’80s or ’90s normally and boom we record it live in one take..we get approached in public for photos because people saw us on Facebook”. Creative marketing and brand awareness are alive and well in Brandon. Some of the video samples from Chez Angela staff and owners. But feedback is always vital to the growth of Chez Angela and comments and questions are always welcomed.
