Deer Dash Leads to Charges After Business Window Shattered

On August 6^th BPS received a mischief complaint regarding a broken window at a business in the 300 block of Park Avenue East. Surveillance footage showed that on August 3rd at 8:41 p.m., a male exited a black SUV while holding a large knife and ran after a deer. The deer fled from the male and struck the business window, causing the glass to shatter. The deer then ran from the area and appeared to be uninjured.

The male was identified through surveillance footage.

The 26-year-old male was located, arrested, and charged on September 23^rd. He was later released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in court on November 30^th, 2026. He faces charges of Possession of a Weapon, Mischief to Property Under $5000, Hunt out of Season, and Hunting other than with Firearm.
