Man Facing Firearm and Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

Possess Property Obtained by Crime

On August 21, 2026, shortly after 8:00 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Victoria Ave.  The 47-year-old male driver from Saskatoon was found to be suspended from driving and charged under the HTA accordingly, and his vehicle towed.  Further investigation revealed he was in possession of unstamped tobacco, and stolen property including a passport.  He was also breaching several release conditions.  He was lodged and appeared in court.  He was remanded into custody on charges of Possess Property Obtained by Crime and Fail to Comply with Release Order.

Firearm Charges

On August 21, 2026, shortly after 11:00 pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of 26^th street.  A rifle was observed within the vehicle.  The 35-year-old driver was arrested.  Further investigation revealed he was also in possession of meth.  He was later released to appear in court on November 2, 2026, on charges of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, Careless Storage of Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of Firearm in Vehicle and Possess Meth.
