Two arrested with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Meth

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Relaease Shortly before 7:00 am, police received a report that a male had just smashed out a window on a vehicle in the 000 block of 9th street. Police searched the area, and later located two suspects. A 27-year-old male was arrested for the Mischief to Property. He was found to be in possession of approximately 5 grams of meth and packaging material. He will appear in court on August 12, 2019 for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Mischief to Property. A 31-year-old male was also found to be in possession of approximately 3 grams of meth and a scale. He was also on court orders not to possess drugs. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Breach of Recognizance.

Fans flock to see the Stanley Cup in Brandon

Hundreds of fans lined up outside of the Keystone Centre's UCT Pavilion on Monday afternoon to see Brandon-born, NHL defenceman, Joel Edmundson and the Stanley Cup. Derek Sobkow got in line earlier in the day to attend the free viewing party. "Even though I'm a die-heard Leafs fan, I wanted to come out and recognize Joel and the Blues for capturing the cup this year" said Sobkow. "It's a special trophy and I'm glad I will have an opportunity to take a picture alongside it" added Sobkow. In addition to the viewing party at the Keystone Centre, Edmundson also made several other stops with the Stanley Cup including Murray Chevrolet Cadillac, the Sportsplex, and Outperforme Athletics. According to the NHL, the Cup will travel through eight provinces, seven states, five countries, and close to 40,000 kilometers this summer.

Suspect in two thefts from a liquor store located, in possession of meth at time of arrest

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release An 29 year old Brandon man was arrested on Saturday afternoon and charged with Theft Under $5000 x 2, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Breach of an Undertaking. An officer was investigating two thefts from a liquor store in the previous two weeks and identified the suspect through surveillance video. The officer located the suspect in the 600 block of 10th St on Saturday afternoon and as he was stopping him to arrest him, observed him throw away several small baggies. The baggies were recovered and contained methamphetamine. The male was arrested and released to appear in court in September.

Two arrested in downtown incident involving bear spray, CO2 pellet pistol

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release At 2:15 am on Sunday morning, officers were in the area of 10th St and Rosser Ave on another matter. One of the officers observed a male riding a bicycles a short distance away. As the male on the bike passed two other men, one of the men pointed a hand gun at him. The male on the bicycle then sprayed the two men with bear spray and rode off. All three men were located in the area. The male on the bicycle, a 19 year old from Winnipeg, was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Center. He will be charged with Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Breach of a Weapons Prohibiton order and will appear in court in September. The male who pointed the firearm was located in possession of a CO2 pellet pistol and was arrested. He was lodged and will be released to appear in court in September on charges of Possession of a Weapon and Use of a Firearm during the Commission of an Offence.

Man allegedly threatens ex-girlfriend, her family

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release At 8 pm on Friday night, a female attended the Brandon Police Service and complained that her ex-boyfriend had pointed a gun at her and threatened her and her family. The 28-year-old Brandon male was located at his residence and arrested without incident. He was charged with Utter Threats, Point a Firearm, Possess a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Possess a Weapon contrary to a Court Order. The “firearm” was located and discovered to be a pellet pistol closely resembling a real firearm. The male was lodged at BCC for court in the morning.
